Living The Questions
On navigating periods of transition with patience rather than premature certainty.
Rainer Maria Rilke famously wrote in Letters to a Young Poet:
Be patient toward all that is unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue.
As engineers and leaders, we are trained to converge quickly—to diagnose root causes, eliminate ambiguity, and ship a fix. In life and relationships, however, forcing premature closure on an open question often forecloses the most meaningful growth.
